MioSoft announces Miocon® Business Data Tools™

November 2005

The Miocon Business Data Tools provide the power and flexibility for mining, migrating, analyzing and sharing data with minimal effort. With MioSoft’s visual, interactive tools, you can perform ad-hoc analysis without creating special purpose databases. You can immediately perform detailed data analysis with only direct access to existing data as a prerequisite – no programming required

Data Migration - Convert data to meet the needs of a new application without writing code. Use the configurable transformations to change values based on multiple aspects of your source data.

Data Access - Miocon Business Data Tools can be used on any data that you can physically access. Data in arbitrary formats can be analyzed directly. Data can be spread across many different sources, such as message queues, multiple files contributing to a joined record, or one file representing some or all of the data. Structured, interactive analysis of IBM® Websphere MQ™ queues is as straightforward as viewing a data file.

Sophisticated Interactive Data Transformations - Reliable, consistent data is essential for supporting multiple systems or new business processes. MioSoft Business Data Tools help you ensure that your data and its format are accurate and conform to internal and external requirements.

Generate repair and test data - Data quality analysis lets you assess and correct erroneous or malformed data

Data Mining - Perform ad hoc drill-down searches with successive criteria to accomplish such tasks as determining regional product or product group sales, then break down sales information by season or quarter. Miocon® tools work on native data, with no pre-processing required - no need for predefined keys, indexing, or coding.

Share results with anyone - Data can scale in both complexity and volume, and either can make results difficult to share. MioSoft Business Data Tools include the distributable MioViewer™ for instantaneous future browsing of data, regardless of complexity or volume - even when a million records or more are involved. MioViewer opens directly on your file so you can easily review and share results with QA, development, business, audit, and other teams.

The MioSoft Business Data Tool Suite Encompasses:

  • Visual Data Analyzer™
  • Business Data Migrator™
  • Business Intelligence Creator™
  • MioViewer™
  • MioAnalyzer™

MioSoft publishes White Paper on Enterprise Data Integration

January 2003

MioSoft Corporation, the leading context server vendor, published a White Paper on "Enterprise Data Integration".

Integration issues are consistently identified as the biggest and most expensive problem for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and eBusiness initiatives.

Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) vendors offer solutions that connect applications, but do not directly address the need for reliable and consistent enterprise-wide data. Their focus on data movement falls short in maintaining data consistency across the organization. What is missing is a solution that ensures cross-enterprise data consistency and reliability.

Bert Barabas, MioSoft's CTO, on integration issues: "Data integration is no longer a nuts-and-bolts problem - EAI tools for connecting applications and business processes are available in all shapes and forms. Integration moves now to a higher level - bridging different representations of customers, products, and transactions among departments - merging all data into a customer-centric view of your enterprise - and continuous real-time identification of individuals and families under marginal data quality."

MioSoft introduces the Knowledge-based Context Server™

September 2001

MioSoft Corporation, the leading context server vendor, leaped to another milestone in achieving enterprise-wide data integrity by introducing the Knowledge-based Context Server as next-generation Integration Server.

Data integrity problems can derail any Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or eBusiness initiative. While integration issues are consistently identified as the biggest and most expensive problem for CRM and eBusiness projects, most integration projects focus on connecting applications and moving data and not on achieving a consistent enterprise-wide data view.

Exposing low quality data to the entire enterprise can easily backfire - more users and business processes will be relying on incorrect or inconsistent information. Extracting data from a local context and using it enterprise wide or moving data with questionable quality between newly connected applications results in overall lower data integrity, thus defying the purpose of the whole CRM and eBusiness effort.

MioSoft's Knowledge-based Context Server™ (KBCS) is based on the proven miocon™ Customer Context™ Server product, which has been in production for two years operating on a scale of 60 million data records from 5000+ source systems.

To solve both data integration and integrity problems, MioSoft designed the KBCS around a concurrent rule engine that evaluates all data fragments from all sources in the context of an enterprise-wide knowledge network of customers, products, orders, service incidents, and others. The KBCS has the capability of performing global matches on hundreds of millions of data fragments by comparing each data fragment with every other using thousands of heuristic and statistical rules for each match.

MioSoft's technology is superior to existing analytical approaches like data warehousing and data mining, which work on stale data in batch mode using analytical techniques like scoring and drill-down. Unlike the KBCS, they do not support the global matches necessary for achieving enterprise-wide data integrity.

Forrester Report recommends Context Server for cutting CRM cost

May 2001

Forrester Research, a leading independent Internet research firm, released a new Report "CRM: At What Cost?" which references MioSoft Corporation as a Context Server vendor.

"As consumers continue to expect a high level of customer service and company leaders feel intense pressure to build CRM solutions, CEOs will need to closely evaluate what drives their CRM spending," said Bob Chatham, principal analyst at Forrester Research. "CRM is of the same scale as the ERP initiatives that firms spent tens of millions of dollars on and needs -- and deserves -- the same level of attention. After all, this is how a firm expresses its personality to its customers."

"Firms must invest in technology like context servers that assemble far-flung data -- then apply consistent rules to provide a uniformly stellar customer experience," Chatham advises the Global 3500 firms. "Insatiable customer demand for "anytime, anywhere" channel convenience dictates that banks control channel costs by putting context servers at the center of their CRM architectures."

Forrester Report on Customer Context Servers

October 2000

Forrester Research, a leading independent Internet research firm, released a new Report “Customer Context Servers,” referencing miosoft corporation as a context server vendor.

“As firms deploy new customer touchpoints, integration lags and business goals suffer. A new type of software – context servers – will centralize customer knowledge, enabling firms to interact seamlessly across channels,” wrote Eric Schmitt, senior analyst at Forrester. “Companies with the best chance of success in the context server market are neutral parties that don’t currently compete with sellers of touchpoint software.”

“Invest in touchpoints with open customer models,” Eric advises the Global 2500 companies. “To satisfy immediate needs but prepare for an integrated future, firms should look beyond prepackaged feature sets and give the nod to products with open, deeply customizable customer models that can be meshed with context servers.”
